IBEW Local 1413 will have a new home! At the Local Union's Membership meeting on October 12th, members in attendance unanimously approved a motion by a member that directed Local Union Business Manager Jim Harrington to identify and acquire a building space for the Local Union to use for an office and all the Local Union's needs for meetings.  At the December 14th Membership Meeting it was announced that Local 1413's new home begining February 1, 2024 will be located at 

1224 West Street (Suite 18) in Genoa Ohio. BM Harrington said "Our new home meets all of the Local Union's needs and achieves the memberships stated goals for improving how the Local Union is operated while also being centerally located for our current membership. Our hope is that this will be one of many accomplishments  that our membership will be proud of what they have accomplished".

Brad N. Goetz, after more than 35 years at the helm of IBEW Local 1413 as Business Manager, announced his retirment from office effective March 24, 2023. Brad's selfless dedication leaves Local 1413 in excellent position for the future success.

The Local Union's Executive Board named  Jim Harrington, currently the Local Union's VP/Assistant Business Manager and Lead Organizer to fill the remainder of Goetz's term as President/Business Manager.

Business Manager Harrington appointed Terry Hasselbach Assistant Business Manager.

Local 1413's Executive Board named Seth Schaeffer to fill the remainder of the term as the Local Union's Vice President.

Congratulations to the 9 new members sworn in to Local 1413 on March 24th. These new members spent the day with Local 1413 Business Manager Jim Harrington and Chief Steward Brent McClain, learning about their rights as members, collective bargaining agreement and benefits before being sworn in. Welcome Brothers and Sister to IBEW Local 1413.

Lonnie R. Stephenson, whose 47-year career at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers took him from apprentice to the union’s top position, announced he will retire as IBEW president, effective Jan. 4, 2023.

The union's international executive council named Kenneth Cooper, 61, currently IBEW secretary-treasurer, to fill the rest of Stephenson’s term, which was to expire in 2026 and Sixth District International Vice President Paul Noble to fill the remainder of Kenneth Cooper’s term.


The Delegates of the 40th IBEW International Convention, which was

conducted in Chicago. Illinois. during the week of May 9 through 13. 2022.

approved several amendments to Atiicle IX of the IBEW Constitution. Click on attached flyer for more information. Including other ammendments to the IBEW Constution the delegates from each Local Union approved the following increases to the portion of dues members pay to the International office (per capita). 


Effective January 1, 2023 monthly per capita for BA members will be $22.00


Effective July 1, 2024 monthly per capita for BA members will be $23.00


Effective July 1, 2025 monthly per capita for BA members will be $24.00

IBEW Local 1413 Welcomes 3 new members!

 5/6/22 Local 1413 Vice President Jim Harrington welcomed 3 new members into our Union. New members spent the day learning about their contract, Union member rights and healthcare benefits. Please say hello and welcome our newest Brothers Alex Espinoza, Jason Brown and Mark Green.

Today We stood in solidarity with the workers at Spartan Chemical seeking the benefits of Union membership! What better example of our great Union than this, IBEW Local 1413 With the help of Local 245 and IBEW 4th District organizers gathered today to support the Spartan workers seeking to gain the benefits of Collective bargaining by handbilling in front of Spartan Chemical Inc in Maumee Ohio, followed by an employee informational meeting. Thank you to everyone who supported the efforts today and thank to all the Spartan employees who attended and made this a great meeting!

IBEW Local 1413 President Brad Goetz and Vice President Jim Harrington welcomed 4 new members into our Union. New members spent the day learning about their contract, Union member rights and healthcare benefits. Please say hello and welcome our newest Brothers and Sister, Nathan Ray, Ellen Hammer Ben Danhoff and Derek Horvatich.

New member George Byington also joined the class again for the day to further his understanding and knowledge of the topics discussed. Brad and Jim both thank you for taking the additional time and dedication to attend today.

Local 1413 President Brad Goetz welcomed 5 new members into our Union. New members spent the day learning about their contract, Union member rights and healthcare benefits. Please say hello and welcome our newest Brothers and Sister, George Byington, Brandon Rizzo, Brennan Kraus, Cody Best and Kathleen Phillips, who once complete with training and qualifications will be working at Davis Besse Nuclear Power Station.

Davis Besse employee’s INPO rating recognition

In August, Davis Besse was recognized by INPO as one of the top nuclear plants in the world with an exemplary rating for the second straight time. To acknowledge the hard work and dedication of everyone that went into receiving this recognition, the DB Senior Leadership Team has given all employees an extra paid day off for the 2021 Christmas holiday break.

For the employee’s who are essential to continuous safe operations of the plant like all of our Local 1413 members at the plant, will be credited with an extra paid absence day that will be applied to the first paid time off day taken in 2022. This will not show up on your normal ADP time off benefit accounts but instead be tracked by The payroll clerk under the pay code MSDS.

Local 1413 ratify New Collective Bargaining Agreement

on November 12, 2020, after 3  months of negotiating for the first time with Energy Harbor the new Employer at Davis - Besse after the bankruptcy and Seperation from FirstEnergy, IBEW Local 1413 members ratified a new 5 year collective bargaining agreement that guarantees 12.5% in wage increases for all job classifications, maintains the rights and protections of our members, and provides for the same level or better in all areas of benefits including healthcare and retirement.  Maintains our members rights and benefits for overtime pay and distribution rules and maintains the same  level our members rights and benefits under the 12 hour schedule Agreement that our members are in favor of.
